The work doesn’t change based on how you pay. Only how it’s billed.

Hourly billing is ideal if you need targeted help without a long-term commitment. You’re billed only for the time worked at the standard hourly rate.

Best for: ongoing operations, content, or advisory work.

Retainers provide reserved time each month at the standard hourly rate. This ensures consistent support and predictable billing.

• £300/month retainer = 10 hours per month
• Roll over to a maximum of 20 hours

Best for: client-facing or growth-based support.

Commission-based arrangements tie support to customer volume while keeping the underlying hourly rate consistent.

Example

• £10 per customer
• Every 3 customers = 1 hour of consulting time

Commission structures are agreed upon in advance and tracked transparently.

Clients may combine payment methods to suit their needs. For example, a smaller retainer paired with commission-based support.

Regardless of structure, the effective hourly rate remains the same.
